Provide a safe and enjoyable recreational setting for individuals attending the Little Tot Playtime program. Responsible for setting up and taking downplay items before and after each Playtime session. Playtime Attendants represent the City and are expected to act in a responsible manner and set a good example for participants and their parents. This is an unsupervised activity, parents and or a guardian attending Little Tot Playtime must accompany their child(ren). Attendant is not responsible for supervising participants but enforcing playtime rules to ensure safety of all Little Tot Playtime participants.The schedule may vary depending on the hours and availabilities of all attendants.
- Report to work on time and complete shifts as scheduled.
- Set up and take down designated program play structures, toys and other needed equipment.
- Provide welcoming, friendly environment and engage in activities with participants.
- Ensure safety of participants and enforce posted room rules.
- Follow department accident procedures, including calling 911 if necessary. This position does not require first aid administration.
- Keep facilities neat and clean.
- Deals with conflicts and reports problems to Recreation Supervisor.
- Complete report forms as required (accident, attendance, time sheets).
- Inform supervisor of supplies needed to perform duties.
- Perform light cleaning play structures, toys and other equipment upon completion of program each day.
- Attendant must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be self-starter and work well independently.
- Previous experience as a facility attendant, or similar position.
- Strong customer service experience working tactfully and courteously with the public.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city’s strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
Salary : $11 - $20
