Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all pool users by preventing accidents, enforcing safety rules, and maintaining high pool health standards. Respond to emergencies and administer first aid when necessary.All applicants must possess valid First Aid, CPR AED, and Lifeguard with Water Park certifications. Scholarship opportunities are available for lifeguard certification and recertification fees.
Work Schedule
- Work 10 - 40 hours per week
Season runs from May - September 2024
- Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Enforce all pool safety rules, regulations, and policies in a professional manner.
- Supervise the pool deck and swim areas, staying alert to swimmers who may need assistance.
- Provide first aid and emergency response as needed, following all established procedures.
- Complete accident and incident reports accurately.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with pool guests.
- Patrol the pool, locker room, and bathroom areas, performing light maintenance duties, including:
- Daily cleanup of the pool deck.
- Stacking pool chairs at the end of each shift.
- Setting up and taking down inner tubes and other equipment.
- Managing lost and found items.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and in-service training sessions.
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Must successfully complete a certified lifeguard training program before starting work.
- Must possess valid First Aid, CPR AED, and Lifeguard with Water Park certifications.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city’s strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard.
Salary : $17 - $19
