Perform work including maintenance, equipment operation, custodial, landscaping, tree maintenance, or other duties to meet the needs of the Parks and Recreation Department. May involve assisting Public Service Workers in maintenance. May be assigned to work in Parks, Gardens & Landscape, , Forestry/Natural Resources, or other areas of the department as needed.This is a seasonal, full-time position working up to 40 hours per week and will run from April to November. Schedule is varied, and may include nights and weekends.
This position is eligible for a retention bonus: Employees in this position will earn an additional 50 cents/hour for each hour worked during the season (March-November) if they work a minimum of 320 hours and meet performance requirements.

- Perform routine custodial work on various city properties, including emptying garbage containers and picking up litter.
- Mowing and trimming the grass.
- Performing miscellaneous landscaping duties.
- Assist in ball field maintenance.
- Empty garbage containers.
- Cleaning of park buildings and restrooms.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate.
- Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive city vehicles.
- Ability to:
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials, including ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Operate weed trimmers, lawn mowers, water trailers, and other city equipment.
- Work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city's strategic objectives for racial equity.
