Responsibilities:
- Police Officer:
o Patrol assigned areas to enforce laws, prevent and investigate crimes, and maintain public safety.
o Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, accidents, and incidents.
o Conduct traffic stops, issue citations, and enforce traffic laws.
o Arrest and detain suspects, conduct searches, and gather evidence.
o Provide assistance and information to the public, and engage in community policing initiatives.
- Code Enforcement Officer:
o Conduct inspections of properties to ensure compliance with municipal codes, zoning ordinances, and other regulations.
o Investigate complaints related to property maintenance, housing standards, and environmental regulations.
o Issue citations, notices of violation, and fines to property owners for non-compliance with codes and regulations.
o Educate property owners, tenants, and the public about code requirements and compliance options.
o Maintain accurate records of inspections, violations, and enforcement actions.
Qualifications & Education:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Certification as a Police Officer by the Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)
Board.
· Previous experience in law enforcement or code enforcement is preferred.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to exercise good judgment and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
· Valid Idaho State driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
· Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, physical fitness assessment
and drug test.
· Applicants may be required to complete a psychological evaluation and polygraph exam.
Salary:
$24.00 DOE
Work Schedule:
This position may include evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Veteran’s Preference and Rights
The City will accord a preference to U.S. Armed Services veterans, or certain of his/her family members, in accordance with provisions of Idaho Code, Title 65, Chapter 5. In the event of equal qualifications for an available position, a veteran or family member who qualifies for the preference will be employed.
