Job Summary:
This position is responsible for all general cleaning with an emphasis on common areas and public spaces. The position ensures an exceptionally clean and safe environment and responds to service requests. The position provides for facilities cleaning maintenance, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment. The incumbent is expected to ensure organizational standards, policies and processes are followed.

Responsibilities, Duties and Accountabilities:
- Primarily responsibility for cleaning and maintaining public areas, including but not limited to City Hall, Water and Waste Water Treatment Plant, City Garage, Internal and External Restrooms, Marina Building, offices, etc.;
- Ability to check renters in and out of Marina Building on weekends
-General cleaning includes but is not limited to the following: vacuuming, trash removal, rest room cleaning, spot cleaning walls/baseboards, carpets, lighting fixtures, etc.; surface cleaning, such as table-top dusting, window cleaning, etc.;
- Special cleaning such as window blinds, rug shampooing, floor striping/waxing/buffing, cleaning of drapes, walls, ceilings and other project-related cleaning or additional cleaning needs; or coordinates with contracted agencies to perform specialized work;
- Ensures trash removals and clean area maintained around dumpsters, bringing any concerns to leadership’s attention;
- Bringing issues and concerns to the attention of the leadership as appropriate;
- Maintains professional working relationships with co-workers, vendors and the general public
- Conducts routine inspections of all public/common areas for cleanliness and exceptional appearance, bringing issues and concerns (broken, torn/worn, destroyed or otherwise equipment, furnishings, supplies, etc.) to the attention of the leadership; Maintains regular and routine attendance and punctuality as required; Available and willing to work evenings, week-ends and holidays; Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be Eighteen (18) Years of Age
- High School Diploma or Equivalence
- Valid, Current Driver’s License with successful driving record
- Work experience in Janitorial Services or Maintenance Services
- Demonstrated knowledge of janitorial related operations
- Demonstrated professional demeanor and satisfactory oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with sensitive information, exercising considerable discretion and good judgment, demonstrated conscientious and dependable
Physical Requirements
- The ability to lift 25 pounds.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain.
- The ability to safely climb ladders and stairs multiple times daily.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- The ability to work in extreme weather.
- Ability to wear personnel protective equipment correctly, when required.

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
