SPRWS provides drinking water to customers in the City of Saint Paul in addition to several surrounding suburban communities including Maplewood, West Saint Paul, Lauderdale, Falcon Heights, Mendota, and Mendota Heights. Our valued employees provide water for 450,000 customers and manage the largest water distribution system in Minnesota. This position provides an opportunity to perform important and meaningful work in a team-oriented environment.
Here’s what you can expect to do:
Perform full-performance professional work involving:
- Leads the utility in maintaining regulatory compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Planning (RMP). Coordinates the PSM/RMP programs across the utility.
- Maintains and conducts safety education and training programs. Becomes the subject matter expert on the curriculum selection, scheduling, and delivery of our on-line training.
- Updates procedures, programs, policies, guidelines, SOPs, forms, and plans as necessary.
- Conducts investigations and periodic inspections of work sites and SPRWS facilities.
- Investigates occupational accidents, injuries, and potentially hazardous environmental conditions. This is accomplished by examining causes, maintaining and analyzing records, and recommending appropriate actions.

Position Requirements
A bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience in safety program development and safety training. A Master's Degree in Safety may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. No substitution for education.
Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License, or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
