Job Summary:
The City of St. Peters Parks Department is seeking a dedicated individual to join the team as a part-time Parks Maintenance Crew Member. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors while contributing to the upkeep of the city's twenty-five parks and twenty-nine miles of recreation trails. Responsibilities include cleaning and preparing outdoor pavilions, maintaining restrooms, removing trash, and performing minor repairs to park amenities.
Part-time staff typically work three to four days per week between April and October and two to three days per week between November and March, with rotating weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance: Perform labor to repair and maintain parks, playgrounds, and trails ensuring they are in optimal condition.
- Event Support: Assist with City special events, private reservations, and special projects, providing necessary support and ensuring smooth operations.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and conduct minor maintenance on light equipment, power tools, motorized equipment, and vehicles.
- Customer Interaction: Inform and educate guests about park policies and procedures, delivering exceptional public service.
- Snow Removal: Conduct limited snow removal duties as needed to ensure safety and accessibility for City facilities during winter months.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and carry it a reasonable distance and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 lbs.
- Must have a Motor Vehicle Operators license valid in the state of Missouri.
- Must be able to workdays, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
