Position Summary
The Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in the planning, development, design, and inspection of various capital improvement projects and engineering projects related to drinking water, wastewater and stormwater. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Normal Shift : Monday-Friday 7 : 00 a.m.-3 : 30 p.m. (or 7 : 30a-4p, 8-hour days)
Key Responsibilities
- Project Engineering : Oversee and manage various capital improvement projects, including the direction of contractors and consultants. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
- Inspection : Conduct inspections to assess project progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Procurement and Contracts : Manage procurement processes, negotiate contracts, and coordinate construction and professional services.
- Communication : Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including residents, contractors, and city officials.
- Technical Expertise : Provide technical advice and assistance to other departments and ensure that projects adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
- Budget Management : Prepare and manage project budgets, review pay estimates, and process change orders.
