As the Recreation Superintendent - Fitness & Athletics, you'll oversee the planning, management, and operation of Rec-Plex fitness areas, league programming, facility rentals, and summer camps. Reporting to the Director of Recreation, you'll play a key role in shaping community recreation initiatives and ensuring exceptional experiences for residents and visitors.
This role combines leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on involvement to keep our programs innovative, engaging, and inclusive.
Normal Shift : Primarily Mon-Fri (Schedule days and times will fluctuate; recurrent evenings, weekends, and holiday hours.)
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate staff performance.
- Assist in hiring decisions and make recommendations for terminations.
- Plan and coordinate recreation programs, special events, and league activities.
- Develop and manage public relations and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor facility and equipment conditions; ensure repairs and replacements.
- Prepare budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Respond to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
- Serve as Rec-Plex Manager-on-Duty as needed.
- Maintain compliance with City safety standards.
- Stay informed on recreation trends to improve programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
