Our award-winning Communications & Strategy team is seeking a Senior Multimedia Communications Specialist. You would play a key role developing marketing initiatives and delivering impactful messages across all our communications platforms to both external and internal audiences. Normal Shift: Mon-Fri; 40-hour work weeks (Some weekends and evening required based on City Events and Board meetings.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and produce internal and external publications, marketing materials, and collateral for City departments across print and electronic platforms.
- Plan and schedule print and electronic publications to reach target audiences effectively.
- Support departmental efforts related to City special events.
- Create and manage multimedia content, including messaging for the City website and social media platforms.
- Collaborate with multimedia and video production teams to develop integrated communications that educate stakeholders about City programs, projects, and services.
- Assist with media relations, including news release coordination and responses to media inquiries, serving as an official media contact for the City.
- Administer and maintain the City of St. Peters website, making updates and advising on best practices for site improvements.
- Capture high-quality photographs of City facilities, programs, and events for marketing and communication purposes.
- Monitor and track news coverage related to the City of St. Peters.
- Serve on the Emergency Response Team during disaster incidents as needed.
- Perform all work in compliance with established City safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or other closely related field of study and four (4) years of experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and expert knowledge of the English language and grammar.
- Must have the ability to express ideas and concepts visually.
- Working knowledge of Macintosh and desktop publishing.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri.
