Position Summary
Are you ready to make a difference in your community? As a Utility Operator , you will play a vital role in operating, maintaining, and repairing water and wastewater treatment facilities. This position involves working on a shift schedule and requires physical and mental effort, problem-solving, and adherence to City, State, and Federal regulations.
Normal Shift : 3rd shift ( 11 : 00pm-7 : 30am); Mon-Sun (varies)
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants, including telemetry controls, motors, pumps, and process equipment.
- Monitor and control water treatment, distribution, and wastewater systems.
- Conduct sample collection and analysis, including water treatment, wastewater, and bacteria samples.
- Perform minor and major repairs to plant equipment and facilities.
- Maintain records by calculating and entering data into computerized systems daily.
- Ensure compliance with all City, State, and Federal regulations.
- Monitor and maintain the press building and chemical stock.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer inquiries.
- Maintain a valid State operator's license and participate in safety compliance.
