What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asset Coordinator position at City of St. Petersburg?
This is responsible professional, technical, and analytical work in the research, data analysis, design, development, review, and evaluation of organizational projects and data reporting requirements in support of the asset management system in the Stormwater, Pavement, and Traffic Operations Department. Work requires coordinating the asset management processes for asset inventories, maintenance records, and condition assessments through procedure development, process audits, and training of key staff on GIS, asset management software applications, and maintenance management software; performing detailed tasks associated with departmental programs to comply with regulations; maintaining project work tables to analyze and assess operational efficiencies; coordinating and implementing approved procedures; reviewing project data and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Work also includes composing and preparing final reports, including organizing the supporting documents; and working with management to effectively integrate departmental asset management objectives with recommended strategies in support of overall established service goals for the department; work requires the exercise of considerable independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in completing assigned tasks.

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess considerable progressive and responsible administrative experience with databases, GIS, and asset management systems.
- Have some supervisory experience.
- Have progressive experience in computer proficiency with asset management software applications for maintaining and managing the built and natural environment.
- Have experience developing and coordinating department wide performance measurement programs to include reports on key performance indicators and benchmarks.
- Have experience with continuous process improvement programs and/or tools.
- Have experience developing and maintaining organizational and workflow diagrams and project management schedule and activity charts.
- Have experience with organizational strategic business planning processes and be able to lead and organize related activities.
- Have strong research, writing and computer skills.
- Be able to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills that enable effective interaction with all stakeholder levels, including City employees, businesses, other agencies, and the public.
- Be able to quickly learn and effectively administer policies and regulations.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Possess a valid Bachelor’s degree.
- Have considerable progressive experience working in Stormwater, Pavement, or Traffic operations.
- Have knowledge of the means and methods for maintenance of department specific asset classes that may include but are not limited to: HVAC, bridges, seawalls, pipes, pumps, electrical motors, roofing systems, interior and exterior coatings, structural and non-structural architectural elements, lakes and drainage systems, trees and park lands, roadways, sidewalks and paving, etc.
- Have experience utilizing business intelligence software including writing, running, and analyzing reports.
- Have an understanding of municipal government utility operations with some knowledge of related functions and duties.
