What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Supervisor position at City of St. Petersburg?
This is very important supervisory work directing the activities of parking citation and parking permit customer service employees and contact work (public and internally) resolving complex parking citation and parking permit service-related issues. This position is responsible for participating in the selection, training, productivity and evaluation of all assigned employees. Work involves planning and organizing to accommodate public contact in office, over the phone, and via e-mail; responsibility for motivating employee productivity and employee morale; resolving employee relations issues; enhancing operational efficiencies; effective use of staffing and other resources; monitoring customer service staff performance; providing employee training and development; coordinating staff communications; resolving escalated customer situations; and handling special projects. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively handle frequent public and internal contact that at times can be of a delicate nature. An employee in this position must also possess the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships, and exercise strategic thinking, creativity, independent judgment, resourcefulness and ingenuity.
Salary: $26.96 - $42.44 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Have at least five (5) years of supervisory experience.
- Have work experience handling customer service requests and billing inquiries, preferably in person and over the phone.
- Have experience in general accounting practices.
- Be able to reconcile cash, check, and credit card collections.
- Be able to professionally interact with customers to assist with parking services and related needs.
- Be able to resolve complicated customer issues.
- Be able to quickly and accurately perform complicated mathematical calculations such as percentages and proration.
- Be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have at least five (5) years of customer service experience in an office environment interacting with customers on the telephone and in person.
- Are able to speak both English and a second language fluently.
