What are the responsibilities and job description for the Librarian I (Part-Time) position at City of St. Petersburg?
This part-time position is responsible for delivering library services and programs in a municipal library setting. Work requires the application of professional library skills and knowledge acquired through special study and training on a variety of technical and/or professional functions. Work will include evening and weekend hours providing library services. Work may also include the supervision, instruction and oversight of a small staff of professional and nonprofessional assistants. An employee in this class is able to provide excellent library patron services, including lending materials; providing information upon request; presenting library and outreach programs; skillfully equipping patrons and staff with library information, educating and training the public in an automated and technological environment; competently handling community and supervisory contact with considerable patience, tact and diplomacy; and utilizing considerable sound judgment, discretion and initiative in developing solutions to problems.
Salary: $25.34 - $40.26 Hourly

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Have a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited college or university.
- Have the ability to travel between library facilities within the same shift, as needed.
- Have demonstrated professional library experience.
- Have demonstrated library or general supervisory experience.
- Have experience working in a modern library system.
