What are the responsibilities and job description for the Library Assistant I position at City of St. Petersburg?
The St. Petersburg Library System is seeking candidates for multiple Library Assistant I positions. Library Assistant I positions are front-line public service positions, responsible for providing excellent library service and friendly customer service to staff and patrons of all ages, including but not limited to: circulation and reference services; technology assistance; and cash handling. Successful candidates may be scheduled to work at library locations around the city and will be scheduled to work evenings and weekends on a rotating basis.
Salary: $17.05 - $23.73 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Be able to travel between library facilities as needed.
- Have previous experience working with the public and providing customer service.
- Be familiar with technology across a variety of formats and devices.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have previous library experience.
- Are skilled in technology, including computers, mobile devices, and point-of-sale systems.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
