What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Leader (Sunshine Center) position at City of St. Petersburg?
This is full-time supervisory and participatory work at the City’s Sunshine Senior Center, a multi-service community center dedicated to serving senior adult participants. Work will primarily involve planning, implementing, and performing general supervision of services related to the center’s activities. Work requires an understanding of the interests and characteristics of participants and the ability to apply this understanding to programming. Work involves developing effective and harmonious public relationships with participants, and the ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently while following established policies, procedures, and regulations. Work may include evenings, holidays, and weekend assignments.
Salary: $17.92 - $26.80 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.
- Have excellent customer service skills.
- Be able to learn ActiveNet to conduct member registrations, class registrations, and take cash.
- Be able and desire to learn and conduct new programs and classes for seniors.
- Be able to prepare end of day cash handling reports.
- Be able to organize, implement and drive for field trips.
- Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Possess or earn within a year of employment: First Aid and AED & CPR Certifications.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have some knowledge of programming for seniors.
- Have some knowledge of related equipment and various types of recreation tools and games.
- Be able to plan, organize, and supervise volunteers.
- Be able to use a computer and have some knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and email.
