What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stormwater Operations Foreperson position at City of St. Petersburg?
This is responsible supervisory work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of municipal subsurface and surface facilities. Work involves supervising and participating in the work of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled maintenance personnel maintaining streets, rights-of-way, easements, medians, sidewalks, curbs, sea walls, retaining walls, bridges, culverts, catch basins, and storm sewers, including tree trimming using heavy equipment in the any of the listed areas sometimes under unfavorable weather conditions. Work also includes basic computer work; using a Work Asset Management (WAM) system; creating and reviewing related records and reports; and participation in the selection, placement, promotion, training, safety and discipline of selected subordinate personnel. Duties and responsibilities of this position require the exercise of considerable independent judgment based upon good experience and technical knowledge.
Salary: $25.33 - $40.26 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver License with “N” endorsement.
- Have at least four (4) years of progressive work experience in stormwater maintenance, construction, tree trimming, use of traffic control devices, and repair work or similar activities.
- Have at least six (6) months of supervisory experience.
- Be able to understand and efficiently carry out written and oral instructions and provide clear and concise directions to subordinate personnel.
- Have basic computer skills.
- Be able to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Be able to maintain accurate records and prepare activity reports for assigned projects.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have considerable knowledge of materials, specialized equipment, tools, methods and techniques used in public works maintenance, repair and construction projects.
- Have knowledge and/or experience using a Work Asset Management (WAM) system.
- Have knowledge of legal concepts involved in real estate, property rights and proper notice.
- Have some experience performing and managing emergency response duties.
- Have obtained a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Public Applicator License with Aquatic Pest Control and Right of Way endorsements.
- Have some experience and skill interpreting and coordinating administrative policies and procedures.
- Have some experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite software.
