What are the responsibilities and job description for the LAND USE INSPECTOR position at City of Stamford, CT?
DUTIES: Under the supervision and direction of the Land Use Bureau Chief or designee, conducts field inspections to assess compliance with relevant land use regulations, permits and approvals including Planning, Zoning, Environmental Protection and Coastal Area Management; issues land use permits; performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a closely related field; OR
- an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a closely related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in construction inspection, civil engineering or a closely related field; OR
- a Bachelor’s degree in any field and four (4) years of the above-noted experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: At time of appointment, possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
SCOPE OF EXAMINATION: There will not be a written examination. There will be an Training and Evaluation supplement No. 25-06. Applicants will be ranked according to their education, training and experience.
