Key Responsibilities:
Building Inspection Duties:
- Conduct on-site inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to verify compliance with codes and safety standards.
- Perform digital review of construction plans and permits for regulatory compliance.
- Inspect structures and systems (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC) for safety and code adherence.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings and recommendations.
- Advise stakeholders on code compliance and required changes.
- Perform follow-up inspections to verify corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Planning, Zoning, and Fire Departments on compliance efforts.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule inspections and manage the inspection calendar.
- Respond to inquiries about building codes, permits, and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, permits, and communications.
- Process and review permit applications for completeness.
- Enter data into tracking systems and generate reports.
- Prepare and send official correspondence to stakeholders.
General Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in building inspection or a related field.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with inspection software and Google Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in building inspection, construction, or a related field.
- Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- ICC Certification or licensing as a building inspector is a plus.
Work Environment:
The role includes field-based inspections and office-based administrative duties. Frequent travel to job sites within the jurisdiction is required. Occasional overtime may be necessary based on inspection schedules. Regular interaction with contractors, property owners, architects, and the public.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor construction sites.
- Capacity to climb ladders, navigate construction areas, and lift up to 20 pounds as needed.
