EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
NOTE: Employees may be required to respond to a disaster, either natural or man-made, to serve the citizens of Statesville. Service to the citizens during a disaster may result in the assignment of other duties, which will take precedence over duties described in this job description. Employees may perform other related duties as needed to meet the needs of the organization.Responsible for assisting with hardware and software installations and upgrades (including but not limited to workstations/computers, telephones, printers, copiers, and related equipment).Maintains cell phones and mobile devices, including activation and mobile device management software.Responsible for password resets, multifactor authentication, and login issues.Troubleshoots and resolves issues in person, or by phone, email, chat, and remote access.Acts as a backup for critical business processes.Assists with Helpdesk tasks as assigned.Accurate document requests for technical assistance, steps taken to resolve them, and the specific dates/individuals involved.Assists in the support of voice over internet protocol (VOIP) systems and administration.Assists with maintaining end-point updates and patches.Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of operational principles and characteristics of telecommunications, personal computers, and related peripheral equipment.Knowledge of operational principles and procedures of standard word processing, database, spreadsheet, email, and related business applications software.Ability to understand and use a variety of telecommunications equipment, personal computer hardware and software.Ability to utilize Active Directory and Microsoft Office 365.Ability to identify, define, and resolve technical telecommunications and/or computer problems.Ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks.Ability to collaborate with a team and utilize project workflow.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, users, other departments, and supervisors.Job Related Physical Activity RequirementsThis position involves light work requiring the exertion of 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
