The City of Steamboat Springs has a fun part time seasonal position open at our afterschool daycare program with up to 18 hours per week. Schedules can be flexible, but hours are from 2:30pm-5:45pm. The Afterschool Action program runs Monday-Friday following the Steamboat Springs School District Calendar.
This job entails working with children within our school year program (K-5th grade), providing snacks, supervision, and homework help.
The job also includes planning and implementing activities, ensuring safety of participants, and providing a fun and exciting environment for all children to thrive and learn.
Assist in parent communications: discipline, achievements, future program plans and other topics as relevant.
Working with Program Director, Youth Program Coordinator and fellow staff members in planning daily activities, evaluating program and operating within state rules and regulations.
Other duties as necessary.
Must be 16 years or older and have a minimum of 480 hours working with children. This individual must have patience, energy, and a passion for working with children!
First aid/CPR preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days
Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in activities which include running, swimming, team building initiatives, and physical games.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks outdoors in different climates. Agrees to criminal background check before employment.
Compensation range is $21.54 - $26.18/hour and placement within the range is dependent upon relevant experience, certifications, and qualifications.
