In this role, youll officiate thrilling basketball, softball, and volleyball games while keeping the score and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Youll be a key player in creating a fun and safe environment for both youth and adult sports leagues.
What you'll do:
- Officiate action-packed games and ensure that the rules are followed with fairness and integrity.
- Scorekeep like a pro, managing the scoreboard and recording game stats.
- Supervise a team of seasonal staff to ensure smooth operations and create a winning atmosphere.
- Inspect playing areas before games to ensure safety and make sure everyone is ready to go!
- Handle player misconduct with tact and professionalismkeep things fair and fun!
- Provide customer service with a smile, addressing any concerns or questions from participants.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to keep the games going!

What you need to succeed:
- Knowledge of the Game: A solid understanding of basketball, softball, and volleyball rules. If you dont know it yet, well help you learn!
- Math Skills: Basic math skills to keep track of scores and stats in a snap.
- People Skills: A friendly, approachable attitude that keeps players and fans engaged and satisfied. Youll be the face of the game!
- Organizational Skills: Ability to stay on top of multiple tasks, whether its calling the game or recording scoresfocus is key!
- Physical Stamina: Be ready to move around the court or field, sometimes lifting up to 40 pounds or more. Flexibility and physical mobility are a must!
- Safety First: A keen eye for safetywhether youre checking the playing surface or making sure everyones following the rules, safety is always top of mind.
- Customer Service: Your positive attitude and ability to stay calm in tough situations will help you handle even the most challenging player moments.
Other Perks:
- Experience: Previous experience as an official, scorekeeper, or supervisor is a bonus, but well train you if youre new to the game!
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 14 years old to apply.
- Certification: Concussion training certification (NFHA or CDC) is a plus, but not required.
