Are you passionate about aquatics and dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for our community? We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Recreation Center Aquatics Supervisor!
What You’ll Do:
As the Aquatics Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in the planning, development, and management of exciting aquatic programs and activities. Your responsibilities will include:- Water Quality Management: Monitor and maintain pool filtration and chemical systems, ensuring our water is always crystal clear and safe for all swimmers. Your expertise will help troubleshoot and adjust water chemistry to meet health standards.
- Staff Leadership: Oversee and support a team of lifeguards, swim instructors, and front desk staff. You’ll be responsible for scheduling, training, and mentoring, ensuring our team is well-prepared to provide top-notch service.
- Safety First: Assume lifeguard duties as needed, enforcing safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and keep our guests safe.
- Community Engagement: Assist in planning public relations, promotional events, and educational programs that foster community involvement and enjoyment.
- Operational Excellence: Help manage the budget, making recommendations for efficient and effective operations while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact positively with staff, patrons, and the community.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: A knack for creating solutions and adapting to changing environments in a fast-paced setting.
- Aquatic Knowledge: Familiarity with pool maintenance, lifeguard techniques, and recreation program planning.
- Education: An associate's degree in recreation administration, physical education, or a related field is required. Equivalent education and experience may be considered in lieu of an associate's degree.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in aquatic supervision, along with at least 2 years of lifeguarding, pool maintenance, or swim instruction, is required.
- Certifications: You’ll need to obtain Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid within six months of employment. Other certifications, such as Water Safety Instructor and Certified Pool Operator, are a plus!
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
