What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Plant Operator - Water Department position at City of Steubenville - Civil Service Commission?

Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Must have a basic mechanical aptitude. Must be in physical shape to ascend, descend and work from steps, ladders and scaffolding and lift, carry and handle weights of 100 pounds or over. Possession of valid motor vehicle license and may be required to obtain a Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License. It is desired that applicants possess a Class I Water Supply License upon applying or they will be required to obtain once appointed to the Water Department. All certifications and licensing obtained must be kept as a condition of employment.
Starting wage for this full-time, permanent position is $22.2236 per hour. This is a Union position with benefits, the ability to earn overtime or paid time off, and the possibility for future advancement. This position is required to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
