The City of Steubenville Civil Service Commission will hold a written, competitive examination for the position of Police Officer on Saturday, May 17, 2025, 10:00 A.M. at City Hall, 115 S. Third St., Steubenville, Ohio.
NOTE: Physical Agility testing will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Harding Stadium Practice Field for those who pass the written examination.

A copy of a valid driver’s license must be provided at the time of application along with any pertinent documentation. . If all documentation does not accompany the completed application, said application will not be processed thereby making the individual ineligible to sit for the examination.

Mail in application packets MUST be postmarked by May 6, 2025, addressed to the City of Steubenville, Civil Service Commission, 115 S. Third St., Steubenville, OH 43952. Anyone interestedMUST complete & return the City’s Application Packet found on our website, as well as meet the following requirements to sit for the examination.
To qualify for the position of Police Officer and be eligible to take the Written, Competitive Examination, APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment, 20 Years old to sit for test.
· 35 years of age is the maximum age for appointment. If over 35, MUST have OPOTA certificate and be current with training requirements.
· Must be a United States Citizen.
· Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable at time of appointment.
· Must be a High School Graduate or hold a G.E.D. equivalent certificate.
Applicants must pass both the written examination and OPOTA minimum physical standards test to advance. EOE/MF
