Under the general supervision of the Team Leader II, utilizes a variety of tools and specialized equipment to perform routine manual work. Requires operation of sanitation and similar equipment. Routine tasks are performed with considerable independence and sound exercise of judgment and are subject to inspection while in progress and upon completion. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring screening for illegal substance and alcohol use.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Loads vegetation, trash and operates the controls on back of the sanitation truck, forklift, and other hand and power tools used in Sanitation.Maintains inside and outside of City Sanitation yard and facility (e.g., cleaning, gathering loose trash, etc.).Cleans garbage carts, dumpsters, sanitation trucks and wash down area.Performs general maintenance in office including cleaning, moving furniture, and changing light bulbs.NOTE: The examples of essential functions as listed in this classification specification are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function of work does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.
