As An Airport Operations Agent You Will
- Inspect airport operation/movement areas including airport runway and taxiway system, airport lighting and airport navigational aids (NAVAIDs). Shall be responsible to ensure that all pavement areas, lighting systems and equipment are working and in compliance with FAA regulations. Must also maintain all required inspections and reports.
- Responsible for enforcing the policies and procedures in the Airport's Emergency Response Plan, Hurricane Plan, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SW3P), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC), Pavement Management Plan (PMP), and any other plan assigned by Airport Management.
- Respond to airport emergencies and assist in emergency operations as needed. Will notify the proper authority of emergency situations and will respond as the authority or situation requires. Shall assist in the airport's investigation of any aircraft accidents, incidents, or movement area incursions with other Operations personnel.
- Must be able to perform required work and seek out opportunities to finish tasks or projects.
- Assist in public relations by telephone, e-mail, tenant meetings or in person by assisting customers, visitors and tour groups; disseminating information to the public including rules and regulations, ordinances and Federal Aviation Regulations.
Formal Education
- High school graduate, GED or equivalent.
- Preference will be given to those candidates who possess Airport, or FBO (Fixed Based Operator) experience and knowledge of aviation terminology.
- Preferred candidates will be knowledgeable in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and their applicability to the Sugar Land Regional Airport.
- Two years of experience in a similar position or military service (discharge from military service must not be for bad conduct or dishonorable) is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to learn Airport Operations policies and procedures. This will vary based on the needs of the Airport on a daily basis.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver License.
- Must be able to obtain a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate within 12 months of employment.
