Under the leadership of the School Based Recreation Coordinator, this position implements afterschool program-specific curriculum and facilitates a variety of active games, tabletop games, craft activities or science experiments, playground time and / or other enrichment activities on site at Sun Prairie Elementary schools on Thursday afternoons. This position will also work closely with program partners on site to collaborate on afterschool program curriculum. We are seeking an instructor for our Creekside Elementary School site.
Dates and hours needed :
Thursdays, 2024-2025 School Year (Sept-June), position will start during the current school year, approx. Feb 2025.
1 : 00-5 : 30 pm
Quarterly planning meetings, date / time determined by team schedules.
Starting wage - $15.00 -$20.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications : Typically, an applicant with a high school diploma and some experience working with youth in a program setting will start at a minimum rate of $15 / hr. The position qualifies for $.50 increases annually.

- Lead, demonstrate and instruct participants in recreation programs and activities.
- Provide an interactive, positive, fun and safe environment for the participants while effectively teaching provided lesson plans
- Assist in the development of program curriculum and lesson plans
- Supervise all participants
- Listen, respond and answer questions and concerns from parents and participants
- Provide clear communication to and from coordinator, participants and parents
- Provide direction and support for Program Assistant(s)
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Other duties as assigned
