Seasonal Maintenance Worker
The City of Sunnyside is currently accepting applications for the position of Seasonal Maintenance Workers in our Public Works Department. Seasonal maintenance workers will be assigned to any one of the following divisions of the Public Works Department - Parks, Streets, Water or Wastewater. These seasonal positions will be filled from April 2024 through October 2024. These positions are Full-Time (40 hours per week), temporary (seasonal employment only) positions with the City of Sunnyside.

Essential Job Functions (may include some or all of the following):
- Uses a variety of hand and power-operated tools and equipment such as shovels, picks, tapping machine, power hacksaw, drills, jackhammer, welders, compressor, portable concrete saw, computers, GPS data collectors, and all associated software and programming
- Operates motorized equipment including skid steers, bobcat, backhoe, loader, large and small dump trucks, tractors and vactor trucks
- Performs flagger duties; places traffic cones, signs, barricades and other traffic control devices to ensure that employees have a safe work zone
- Catalogues and inventories materials on hand, supplies and stocks inventory as needed and informs supervisor to reorder as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- One (1) year experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Experience with various pieces of equipment
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
