The City of Surprise Human Service & Community Vitality Department is looking for our next team member! The ideal candidate is passionate about providing innovative programs that enrich the quality of life, are detail-oriented, and building strong partnerships. The Community Center Coordinator will work in multiple capacities supporting the Surprise Community & Resource Center.
This position will be scheduled to work Tuesday through Friday from 10am - 7pm and Saturdays 9am - 2pm.
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, incumbents supervise daily program operations and staffing for the Surprise Community & Resource Center to include coordination and implementation of a variety of classes, activities, special events, room reservations and rentals. Responsibilities include preparing and overseeing the master facility schedule, staffing coordination and supporting the Community Center Supervisor with general oversight of the facility operations.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma and four years related experience, including at least two years of lead or supervisory experience, sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License. Must provide proof of having a Fingerprint Clearance Card (FCC) from the Arizona Department of Public Safety within 7 days of hire or provide proof of having applied for the Fingerprint Clearance Card (FCC) within 7 days of hire. The cost of obtaining an FCC will be provided by the Human Services & Community Vitality department.
