What are the responsibilities and job description for the COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT TECHNICIAN position at City of Surprise, AZ?
The City of Surprise Human Service & Community Vitality (HSCV) Department is looking for our next team member who has the desire to foster community connections by organizing volunteer events, hosting community block parties, supporting HSCV events and youth programs, and promoting department resources by conducting community outreach.
The Community Engagement Technician position requires an outgoing personality and is someone who enjoys working in group settings and integrating themselves into the community, while promoting HSCV programs and services.
SUMMARY
Incumbents assist with the planning, implementation and coordination of a wide variety of human service programs and are knowledgeable about community vitality procedures and area resources available to residents. Incumbents conduct program related research, implement initiatives such as Block Party events and Days of Service programs or projects as directed, assist with youth service programs, promote department programs and services, and provide referral services to customers and clients.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or G.E.D. and at least one year of experience directly related to the area of assignment; additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona driver license.
