The City of Surprise Parks & Recreation Department is excited to welcome an inspiring and energetic individual to our Aquatic team as we approach the opening of our brand-new Oasis Swim Center, a next-generation facility set to open in May 2025. Our facility features a 50-meter pool designed for competitive swim teams and meets, a 6-lane warm-up pool, and a beach-entry recreation pool. We’re searching for a dedicated professional who can infuse our programs with consistency, positivity, and technical expertise, while fostering a culture of growth that reaches beyond our local swimming community. SUMMARY
Incumbents support daily swim club operations, set up site and equipment, assist in scheduling and conducting activities, attend meets, provide customer service, and compile simple reports. Incumbents are part-time seasonal employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Any combination of experience and/or training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job such as those listed above.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be a coach member of USA Swimming within three months of hire and remain a coach member. Must complete USA Swimming Foundations of Coaching 101 within six months of hire, and Foundations of Coaching 201 within 18 months of hire.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview.
