What are the responsibilities and job description for the COLLECTIONS OPERATOR-SENIOR (Water Resources Management) position at City of Surprise?
Incumbents are responsible for performing skilled work to inspection, video, clean, maintain, and operate the collections system which includes pipelines, manholes, and lift stations. Incumbents act as resource to other workers, train others in the use of equipment and machinery, manage inventory, and keep records utilizing a computerized maintenance management system. Incumbents are responsible for the inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of the stormwater system and components. Incumbents may direct and oversee work of an assigned crew as directed by the supervisor or lead.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or G.E.D., and three years of directly related wastewater collection system maintenance and operation experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B or higher with a tanker endorsement and have an Arizona State Grade 3 Wastewater Collection System Operator Certification.
