Invites Applications For The Position Of:
The city of Susanville offers excellent benefits that includes, but is not
limited to education/certification incentive program, merit program,
longevity program, and bilingual pay. The current annual salary for
the Account Technician position is listed below, placement within this
range is dependent on qualifications:

Account Technician: $36,409-$53,826
Account Technician I: $45,471-$67,221

The City provides the following benefits:
General Leave:

Vacation: 12 days of paid vacation leave during year one, increasing
to 15 days in year two and increasing based on years of service
thereafter
Sick Leave: 12 days of paid sick leave per year
Administrative Leave: 8 hours each fiscal year

Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance: The City of Susanville offers
excellent Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance. Employee currently
pays $30 per month and receives medical, dental, and vision coverage
for employee, spouse, and eligible dependents. Medical insurance is
currently a 90/10 plan, with annual deductible of $150 (individual) and
$450 (family), annual maximum out of pocket is $3,000 (individual)
and $6,000 (family).

Retirement: The City participates in the California Public Employees’
Retirement System (CalPERS). For legacy members, the benefit level is
3% @60, employee share is 8%, paid by employees. For new members,
the benefit level is 2% @62 , employee share is 6.75%, paid by the
employee.

Holidays: 13 paid holidays per year and 1 floating holiday

$50,000 Life Insurance policy package

QUALIFICATIONS:

Account Technician

Minimum Qualifications:

2 years of increasingly responsible experience in a financial clerical support

position.

Successful experience in two accounting disciplines

High school graduate or equivalent. Enrollment in a community college

accounting or business related (business bookkeeping, business

management, computer science). Additional experience may be substituted

for education.

Licenses/Certificates:

Valid California Driver’s License

Account Technician I

Minimum Qualifications:

2-year degree in accounting or a related field (business bookkeeping,

business management, computer science). Additional experience may be

substituted for education.

2 years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting field.

Experience in various accounting disciplines including Accounts

Receivables, Accounts Payables and Utility Billing. Previous experience in

municipal or county government is preferred but not required.

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Account Technician/Account Technician I is
responsible for performing a variety of accounting and clerical duties within
the Finance Department. These duties include assisting the public to answer
inquiries related to department records and services; answers inquiries
related to the status of accounts including utility billing and business licenses;
explains commonly used regulations and procedures; explains the proper use
of forms and documents; and processing payments for utility billing. This
position requires the ability to work effectively in a busy environment with
multiple distractions and demonstrate flexibility and attention to detail in
their performance. The ideal candidate must possess a considerable degree of
tact, mature professional judgment and high degree of organization and be
deadline oriented.
