The responsibility of the Motion Graphics Designer & Videographer is to create and enhance the City's digital and visual communications efforts by creating compelling content that informs, engages, and inspires our community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 2D and 3D animation, graphic design, and video production, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex city programs, services, and initiatives into visually appealing and easily understandable content.
Examples of Duties:
- Develop high-quality 2D and 3D animated videos for digital platforms to explain city programs, services, and initiatives.
- Collaborate with various city departments to conceptualize and produce animations that effectively communicate key messages to the public.
- Design visually striking graphics for print, digital, and social media platforms that align with the City’s branding and communication goals.
- Create marketing materials, infographics, and visual content that support the promotion of city events, announcements, and initiatives. Strong understanding of visual storytelling, with the ability to create content that resonates with diverse audiences.
- Shoot and edit videos that range from short-format, marketing-style content for social media to longer-format videos focusing on visual storytelling for the City of Tampa YouTube channel, website, and City of Tampa Television (CTTV).
- Ensure that videos and animations are engaging, informative, and meet the City’s quality standards for broadcast and online dissemination.
- Work closely with the Communications team to identify video opportunities that highlight city services, community stories, and important announcements.
- Develop and execute content strategies across multiple digital platforms, including social media, the City’s website, and CTTV.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of digital content to continuously improve engagement and reach.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including city departments and leadership, to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging across all digital and visual communications.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors when necessary to support large-scale media production projects.
