POSITION SUMMARY: The City of Taylor is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant General Manager at the Taylor Sportsplex.

Under broad policy guidance and direction from the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager performs professional, operational, and administrative duties to ensure a profitable business model and strong customer service experience is delivered daily.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Key Tasks and Responsibilities)

Manage all aspects of Sportsplex operations on a daily basis.

Manage direct reports: Soccer Manager, Inline Hockey Manager, Supervisors, Mechanics.

Ensure the development, promotion and execution of Fall/Winter ice contracts, soccer contracts, inline hockey leagues and large events including but not limited to commencement ceremonies, expos, dance recitals, etc.

Build and maintain an annual budget in conjunction with the General Manager.

Operate the POS system with full knowledge of its capabilities to drive business and maintain excellent customer service.

Role model excellent customer service daily during interaction with patrons and staff.

Attend City Council and TIFA meetings

Work with the purchasing department to create bids for large purchases and facility improvements.

Responsible for the maintenance and appearance of the facilities.

Recruit, coach and develop a staff that provides excellent customer satisfaction.

Must be able to understand and execute all Sportsplex positions.

Work with the marketing team to create visual and print materials.

Promote through email and social media.

Seek out additional events to bring into the Taylor Sportsplex.

Draft a weekly employee schedule based around event/facility needs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school education required

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred

Extensive experience in the golf course business or equivalent sports/entertainment industry preferred
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- This is a full-time non-exempt position.
