STARTING SALARY RANGE: $21.03 - $23.13 per hour
POSITION: Inventory Control Clerk
POSITION NO: 7.137
DEPT: Utilities
Under the general direction of the Public Works Director, this position is responsible for issuing and tracking parts, supplies, and equipment. This position requires maintenance of equipment, coordinating maintenance and repairs with fleet services and stocking of inventory items utilized in the repairs to the city’s water and sanitary sewer system. These duties require computer entry knowledge and ability to operate all standard office machinery including fax, phone, computer scanner, and copy machines and the ability to operate a forklift, pickup truck, pallet jacks and dollies, etc. as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic understanding and ability to learn inventory control and all aspects of stocking supplies.
- Ability to deal with vendors and sales personnel.
- Excellent customer skills when dealing with all people.
- Ability to maintain equipment records.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to take independent action without constant supervision.
- Ability to make logical decisions based on training and experience.
- Ability to operate all office machinery efficiently.
- Must have a good safety record.
- Must be dedicated to providing support to other employees in a team atmosphere.
- Must be willing to work in different areas of the department or City as required.
Training, Certification, and Experience
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Forklift certification or able to achieve within 3 months
Special Requirements
- Valid Florida Driver's License (if not currently held at time of hiring, must be obtained within 6 months)
