STARTING SALARY RANGE: $35.84 - $39.42 per hour
POSITION: Project Manager
POSITION NO: 7.136
DEPT: Utilities
Under the general direction of the Utilities Director, this position has asset portfolio responsibilities, as appropriate, to provide project management and team leadership for City wastewater and facilities engineering projects. An experienced engineering project manager capable of best practice work program team leader responsibilities as required, who can maintain high-quality standards while moving projects forward within budget and on schedule. Must have the ability to multitask and complete many varying assignments and projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Training and knowledge of team leadership and best management practices.
- Advanced knowledge of municipal engineering practices and procedures, including surveying, construction, infrastructure design, and drafting techniques
- Ability to:
o apply engineering knowledge to specific technical and infrastructure problems and develop working contract plans and specifications,
o work as an effective project manager and team leader.
o communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing.
o coordinate engineering projects and work programs.
o communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
o see and read plans and computer monitor screens, operate a vehicle, and read normal and fine print.
- The work requires the ability to operate telephones, smartphones, tablets, photocopiers, printers, desktop and laptop computers, calculators, and all associated software. The work also requires proficiency with computer hardware and software programs, including asset management systems, project management and scheduling programs, engineering design, and modeling programs, Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) tools, email, electronic calendar scheduling, spreadsheets, and word processing, internet applications, and database management.
Training, Certification, and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, project management, public administration, or other relevant discipline and four (4) years of directly related experience and project management capacity.
- Preferred - Current State of Florida Professional Engineer license or current Professional Engineer license from another State that can transfer within six (6) months of hire.
Special Requirements
- Valid Florida Driver's License (if not currently held at time of hiring, must be obtained within 6 months)
