Summary
Evaluates and maintains heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems at City facilities using a safe, documented, and responsive approach. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Installs new HVAC systems (including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment)
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, and replacing filters, coils, and other components
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, procures parts, and repairs malfunctioning HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Conducts thorough inspections of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards
- Documents work performed in the work order management system to include time, service performed, parts used, repairs or installations made, and any observation of future repairs needed
- Maintains an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and parts, ensures tools are clean and in good working condition
- Maintains a clean work area, storage areas, and assigned vehicle
- Coordinates scheduling with outside contractors and works with other employees to meet City need
- Assist with non-HVAC/refrigeration work orders on an as-needed basis
- Follows local and national codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for HVAC and refrigeration equipment installation and maintenance
- Follows city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Five years of experience in maintaining HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Experience with Chillers and Boilers
- TDLR Certified/Contractor License
- EPA 608 Universal Certification for handling refrigerants or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ice machine certification (preferred)
