POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Finance Director City of The Dalles
Closing Date: Open Until Filled - First Review March 28, 2025
DEFINITION: Serve as the City's Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer by planning, directing, and supervising all financial operations within the City's Finance Department (including accounting and annual budget preparation and audit responsibilities). Serve as the Municipal Court Administrator. This position may be responsible for the administration of intergovernmental financial services agreements with local partner agencies as directed by the City Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS: Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Minimum Requirements:
TRAINING: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's Degree is preferred without additional experience.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in public sector accounting or finance and including two years of supervisory experience.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES:
CPA credential preferred and valid driver's license required.
PAY & BENEFITS: $116,533.19 - $143,321.13 annually, plus generous benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision insurances and employer-paid retirement contributions equal to 13.5% of base wage after one year of employment.
