Description
Employee supervises the installation of new sewer mains, the renewing old sewer mains, the installation of clean outs and the renewing of wastewater services, while making sure the job is done in a safe, timely manner.
Schedule work for the day
Assign jobs for the crew
Make sure all materials needed to complete job are available
Make sure all equipment is working properly and available
Make sure crew follows all safety requirements
Supervise work, making sure it is done correctly
Make sure everyone is doing their part
Handle problems as they occur
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license
Computer skills
Know how to read plans
Good communication skills - verbal and written
Basic understanding of a municipal wastewater system
3 years increasing responsibility experience
Physical / Environmental Requirements
Working conditions of this position : entering confined spaces and dealing with harmful waste, gases and odor. Working in wet surroundings and high temperatures, frequently working around loud noise, low temperatures and working outside. Frequently works around hazardous machinery, low noise, cluttered floor areas and poor ventilation. Occasionally works at night, inside and around dust or fumes.
