Under general supervision, responsible for acting as the site supervisor for various licensed or non-licensed youth programs.THE PROGRAM YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH: Portable Playground-Portable Playground travels to different locations throughout the City. We offer this FREE program at 10 Apartment Complexes or Mobile Home Communities for nine weeks of the summer. Staff will set up tents, tables, chairs, and activities for the children in our community to play and have fun in a supervised environment. Staffing is comprised of three staff members- Director, Assistant Director, and Youth Program Leader. Shift is Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; June 2-August 1 with training the week of May 26.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Supervises participants within the various programs. Provides age-appropriate activities. Enforces safety standards and regulations throughout the program to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws. Ensures all possible safety measures are observed. Complies with City and departmental rules and regulations, policies, and procedures. Communicates and enforces facility and program policies and procedures. Complies with City and departmental rules and regulations, policies, and procedures. Responds to emergency situations as required and maintains accurate accident and incident reports. Provides excellent customer service, including interacting with parents and participants to answer questions and resolve problems. Reports parental issues and concerns to supervisor. Leads and trains Youth Program Leaders and Assistant Youth Program Directors. Performs other duties as assigned.

Examinations may include but are not limited to application screening beyond minimum qualifications; written, oral, practical exercise or any combination thereof or other job related assessment deemed appropriate by Human Resources. Your application will be used as a screening tool. Completeness and accuracy are important! As a condition of employment, the city of Thornton conducts background investigations for all positions which may also include a review of credit report and/or driving record.
