What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Dept Administrative Clerk - Part-time position at City of Three Rivers?
The City of Three Rivers is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time, non-union Administrative Clerk position, assisting the Police Department’s Administrative Assistant and Police Chief. The incumbent will assist the Administrative Assistant in carrying out all functions of that office, submitting information to the Prosecutor’s Office and City Attorney, maintaining personnel and work-related files for the police department, and serving as a receptionist for the department. The incumbent will assist in maintaining all daily requisitions, check requests and travel requests for the Police Department. Assisting with bi-weekly payroll and scheduling for entire department including officers, auxiliaries and crossing guards. Duties require high attention to detail and confidentiality.
Within six (6) months, incumbents are expected to work with minimal supervision, able to prioritize and successfully complete multiple work assignments; initiate, plan, organize and carry through projects; work quickly and accurately ability to interpret and explain Police Department policies and procedures; and provide excellent customer service to the general public in a professional courteous manner even in stressful situations.
Minimum requirements: High School graduate or GED; minimum of 1-year related work experience; strong customer relations, organizational and computer skills, ability to maintain high level of accuracy and confidentiality in preparing and entering data, problem solving and decision making skills; valid Michigan driver’s license; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the essential knowledge, skills and abilities.
This is a part-time, non-union, at-will position with a starting pay rate of $15-16 per hour subject to the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience. Work hours: up to 25 hours per week.
