What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Manager/Inspector position at City of Tomball?
The City of Tomball is accepting applications for the position of Construction Manager/Inspector in the Public Works Department. This position provides construction management services to ensure the City grows and develops in a manner that is consistent with its mission statement and core values. This position performs a variety of duties related to planning, inspecting, coordinating and directing all construction activities of public and private infrastructure projects. This is to include both the infrastructure required of private development, and project built directly by the city; assist with design and operational issues, and performs a variety of working level technical duties as needed to assure projects are constructed in compliance with established local, county and state standards. Coordinates with Public Works divisions with technical assistance and guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of Five years hands on public infrastructure construction experience in the field and two years of experience reviewing and reading engineering drawings.
- Five years of experience with construction inspections in the field.
- Supervisory or manager experience preferred.
- Experience inspecting all types of utility infrastructure which includes water, sewer, natural gas, streets, drainage, etc.
- General knowledge of computer programs which includes internet, e-mail, word, excel, printing, and ability to locate and open digital images for construction plans.
- Class "C" licenses in water and wastewater
- Current and valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets City guidelines required.
SALARY:
- Hiring Range: $75,088 - $78,842
- Salary Range: $75,088 - $112,632
