The City of Tomball is accepting applications for the position of Gas Foreman. This position will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of the city's natural gas utilities, ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of the work. Manages the repair, maintenance, and installation of water, sewer, and gas utilities, and facilitates training for department staff. Reporting and regulatory compliance are also key functions.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. |
Education High School diploma/GED or equivalent
Experience Minimum of four years previous relevant work experience is required.
Certifications Natural Gas Operator Qualification, Natural Gas Poly Welding Certification.
Licensing Class C Water and Class C Wastewater Licenses Required
Gas Foreman functions include but are not limited to the following.
- Utility Management: Oversee the activities of the gas division within the Public Works Utilities Department. Direct operations and maintenance of all City natural gas utilities to optimize productivity and safety.
- Observation & Reporting: Monitor potential field problems and relay findings to the supervisor. Collate and file reports on gas leaks, gas line hits, meters installed, and other relevant data to regulatory agencies.
- Cross-Functional Support: Assist with supervision related to water and wastewater as necessary. Ensure timely and correct repair, maintenance, and installation of water, sewer, and gas utilities.
- Training & Development: Organize and schedule training sessions for both new and existing employees. Ensure staff obtain necessary certifications and licenses.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of natural gas parts in stock. Regularly review inventory and order necessary parts from vendors.
- Site Inspection: Check progress on jobs carried out by city utility crews and contractors at various city locations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Record keeping and required regular reporting submitted to the Texas Railroad Commission. Attends routine Commissions audits.
