What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parking Control Officer - Public Works Parking Division position at City of Topeka?
The City of Topekas Parking Division is seeking a dedicated individual to join its team as a Parking Control Officer I. This position performs parking enforcement duties in the Topeka central business and College Hill TIF development districts. Responsibilities include walking or driving a provided city vehicle through assigned enforcement routes in the downtown central business district and assisting with the enforcement, installation and removal of Vehicle Immobilization Devices.
This position works Monday through Friday (8:00am-5:00pm) and is year-round, full-time role that works in all weather conditions.
What youll do:
- Collect parking tickets from payment boxes
- Collect coins from parking meters
- Issue parking tickets
- Answer questions from the public
The ideal candidate possesses any combination of the following traits:
- Thrives in a mobile work environment and possesses excellent navigational skills.
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
- Is a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and must have one year of public relations / customer service experience. Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and city insurable driving record.
Entry rate of pay: $16.10 to $16.85 per hour, DOQ
