DUTIES
Perform manual labor, weed/grass trimming, raking, shoveling, transporting heavy items, general cleaning, park/field maintenance, and related outdoor work.
Specific Job Duties (including but not limited to): Please indicate division preference on your application.
Parks Division: Maintenance of City athletic fields, monitor parks and perform park maintenance (Day, Afternoon and Weekend Shifts). Supervise summer laborer staff. |
Day Shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm Monday - Friday Weekend Shift: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday (2 additional 8hr shifts M-F) |
REQUIREMENTS
- Be at least 18 years of age and possess High School diploma (or GED equivalent) on first day of employment.
- Must possess a valid Michigan driver license with a good driving record (based on City of Troy standards).
- As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana).
- Must wear regular steel-toe or composite-toe boots starting on first day of work.
HOURS
40 hours per week.
Assignments in the Parks are for seven (7) months, April through October, however, length of commitment is flexible.
WAGE (Starting)
$19.00/hour for Parks Division day shift.
$19.50/hour for Parks Division afternoon or weekend shift.
Bonus Opportunities:
- If you have a satisfactory performance evaluation and worked 440-999 hours you will receive $0.25 per hour.
- If you have a satisfactory performance evaluation and work 1000 or more hours you will receive $0.50 per hour.
- $100 Referral Bonus- Summer Laborers who refer a NEW Summer Laborer for the 2025 season will receive a $100 referral bonus for each Summer Laborer they referred who works for the entire season.
