ABOUT THIS JOB
Position Specific Summary:
The Lead Quality Assurance and Training Analyst position at the City of Tucson’s Water Department is responsible for developing and administering onboarding, initial entry training, and sustainment training programs for the department. The position assesses training needs throughout the utility, identifying and developing appropriate training materials to address those needs, creating and administering testing material, developing reports for management on course completions, training status, and projected training challenges.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Administrator. This position leads and instructs the daily operational work of division personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads a team responsible for carrying out training programs. Including, onboarding, initial entry, sustainment of certifications, critical Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) trainings, and core competencies trainings. Develops department wide standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to trainings.
- Ensures that the department’s onboarding program, initial entry training, and sustainment training efficiently provide staff the tools necessary to succeed in their position while inculcating organizational values. Aids in the evaluation of training techniques, identifies problems within trainings and helps develop solutions for best practices. Develops new trainings to meet the needs of the department including software application training, technical training, and mechanical training, as applicable.
- Assists in the planning, coordination and organization of trainings. Manages calendars, schedules meetings and coordinates logistics for departmental trainings, events and workshops. Supervises administration of the department’s training documentation and resources software.
- Organizes the obtainment and renewal of required staff certifications and sustainment training. Ensures that department is up to date on changing industry certifications, standards, and requirements. Oversees certification renewals, documentation, and reporting.
- Develops professional development programs that provide continued opportunities for career growth through the pursuit of industry-specific certifications and trainings.
- Creates and administers testing material relevant to specific trainings and certifications. Monitors performance measures. Uses testing to evaluate the effectiveness of trainings.
- Performs all other duties and tasks assigned.

Mostly office environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and five (5) year of directly related experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite.
Experience in the Water/Wastewater industry.
Experience in management of learning management systems or software administration.
