This non-permanent position will work on an intermittent or seasonal basis.Individuals in this classification may not exceed 1,300 hours in 12 months.
The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification must be obtained within sixty (60 days) of hire and must be maintained throughout employment in this position.

Position Specific Summary
The Music Instructor position at the City of Tucson’s Parks and Recreation designs, delivers, and oversees youth and adult piano, guitar, and drum classes.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaches piano, guitar, and/or drum classes for youth and adults of all abilities at various locations, ensuring lessons are engaging and effective with a minimum of six participants per class- .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Six(6) months post high school
Work Experience:
One (1) year of directly related experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge in crafting teaching plans for various forms of music instruction.
Skill in facilitating positive customer service when communicating
Ability to manage a classroom.
Ability to motivate participants or adapt teaching styles to suit different learning needs.
