ABOUT THIS JOB
Position Specific Summary
The Survey Crew Chief position at the City of Tucson’s Department of Transportation & Mobility is responsible for conducting and analyzing land surveys, as well as leading a survey team to ensure accurate data collection for construction, engineering, and land development projects.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Land Surveyor. This position leads and instructs the daily operational work of survey personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
Guides survey crew staff, assigns tasks and encourages effective teamwork in the field. Provides mentoring and trainings on equipment and best practices. Addresses and resolves any challenges that may arise in the field, including equipment malfunctions or unexpected site conditions. Coordinates survey activities, including scheduling, resource allocation and logistics to meet project deadlines- .

Indoor and outdoor work with heavy exposure to extreme physical, ergonomic, or emotional hazardous environment- .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Six (6) months post-high schoolWork Experience: Two (2) years of directly related experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in land surveying
